Troops Rescue 10 Kidnapped Victims in Zamfara
On Tuesday, in Tsafe town Zamfara, troops of the Joint Task Force Operation Hadarin Daji (OPHD) foiled an attempt to kidnap ten people.
In a statement released in Gusau on Wednesday, Lt. Suleiman Omale, the Operation’s information officer, claimed that they had defeated the kidnappers after responding to a distress call.
When OPHD troops arrived in Tsafe town on March 12, 2024, they engaged in a fierce gunfight with the bandits after responding quickly to a distress call.
The troops defeated the bandits with aggressive tactics and unwavering determination, forcing them to escape through a rocky bush with gunshot wounds, leaving the kidnapped victims behind.
“Ten victims were successfully rescued by the tenacious troops during subsequent mop-up patrols in the area, and they were reunited with their families,” stated Omale.
