This was revealed in a recent report from Geneva titled “Profits and Poverty: The Economics of Forced Labor” which was posted on the website.

According to a report published by AMBusiness, the ILO stated that over two-thirds (73%) of all illicit profits are derived from forced commercial sexual exploitation.

ILO counted that the “total amount of illegal profits from forced labor has risen by $64 billion (37%) since 2014, a significant, attributed to a growth in the number of people forced into labor, as well as higher profits generated from the exploitation of victims.”

For every victim, traffickers and criminals make about $10,000, up from $8,269 a decade ago, according to the report.

Europe is the region with the largest illegal profits, while the Arab world has the lowest.

The statement read as follows, “Europe and Central Asia account for the largest annual illegal profits from the forced labor of $84 billion, followed by Asia and the Pacific $62 billion, Americas $52 billion, Africa $20 billion, and Arab countries $18 billion.”
