Fuel imports in Nigeria ends by June, says Dangote

Aliko Dangote, Africa’s richest man and Chairman of the Dangote Group, has said that following the recline plans of the Dangote Refinery, Nigeria will no longer need to import gasoline starting next month.

Dangote stated in his speech that his refinery can serve West Africa’s petrol and diesel requirements, as well as the continent’s soaring fuel demand.
At the Africa CEO Forum Annual Summit in Kigali on Friday, Dangote expressed confidence about changing Africa’s energy landscape with his speech.
“As of now, Nigeria has no need to import anything aside from gasoline, and by sometime in June, within the interval of four or five weeks, Nigeria shouldn’t import anything like gasoline or one drop of a litre,” he stated.
“We have enough gasoline to give to at least the entire West Africa, and diesel to give to West Africa and Central Africa. We have enough aviation fuel to give to the entire continent and also export some to Spain and Greece.
