Breaking: Tinubu Selects governing board members for 111 tertiary institute

The president of the Nigeria Federation, Bola Tinubu, has approved the appointments of at least 555 persons to serve as pro-chancellors, chairmen, and members of the governing boards of 111 federal universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education.

The appointment was made after the selection of a list of nominees by the Ministry of Education when the advertisement for the Ministry of Education showed the appointment of a chairperson and four members for each of the institutions.
Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, was the one who signed the appointment letter.
The appointments took place after the Academic Staff Union of Universities threatened to embark on another strike, probably disorganizing the academic calendar and causing further setbacks in the country’s higher education sector.
