Kate Middleton has received praise from King Charles for “Her courage” in disclosing her cancer diagnosis

After learning that his daughter-in-law Kate had cancer, King Charles honored her bravery.

Following their hospital stay together, the king and the princess of Wales have maintained close communication, according to a statement from Buckingham Palace.

As per the statement, Charles and Queen Camilla “will persist in providing their affection and assistance to the entire family during this trying period.”

Kate said in a video message that was made public on Friday that she had major abdominal surgery on January 14 to treat a condition that was initially thought to be non-cancerous, but further testing showed that cancer had been present.

Charles declared that he had “stayed in the closest contact with his beloved daughter-in-law throughout the past weeks” and that he was “so proud of Catherine for her courage in speaking as she did” (AP)
The 42-year-old princess wrote in the heartfelt letter that she and Prince William had been trying everything to process the news in private for the benefit of their young family because the diagnosis had come as a “huge shock.”

She also disclosed that she was currently in the initial phases of a preventative chemotherapy course, which she had been advised to undergo.

After they spent time in the hospital together, Charles responded by saying he was “so proud of Catherine for her courage in speaking as she did” and that he had “remained in the closest contact with his beloved daughter-in-law throughout the past weeks.”

The King disclosed his shocking cancer diagnosis in January, the same month that it became public that Kate was recovering in the hospital from an abdominal surgery. The King is currently receiving his treatment for the disease.

Charles has resigned from his royal duties to attend his wife Camilla’s recent engagement in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Still, the King has been busy, having met four British Korean War veterans last week in advance of a palace reception commemorating the conflict’s 70th anniversary.
