Alima Shehu is a well-known Nigerian politician and banker who was born on March 12, 1978. Up to October 18, 2023, she was the National Coordinator of the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA).

Her early schooling was finished at Ambuttai Primary School. She then attended Federal Government College in Kaduna, where she graduated from secondary school.

After attending Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria, Halima Shehu graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English Language. The same university eventually awarded her a master’s degree in international affairs and diplomacy.

Her career path has included positions in banking and politics, demonstrating her breadth of knowledge.

From 2011 to 2015, she worked for the Executive Governor of Katsina State as a Senior Special Assistant.

Halima Shehu began her career at former InterCity Bank where she was an Audit and Internal Control Officer before she rose to head the Customer Service, Cash, Clearing, and Funds Transfer Unit. She later joined Access Bank where she resigned as a Branch Services Head.
